Comments I Live in the Garden for a long time. I went to carver primary school and Issac newton.
We moved from the gardens in 1967 to a town named Vicksburg, Ms for a few years and moved back to chicago where I attended
South shore high school for about a year. Finally I left most of my family in chicago and returned back to Vicksburg where
I stayed for 10 years and moved to California in 1977 and has been here ever since. We stayed 3 doors from the norfleet brothers.
I remember every thing like talent shows at the children building, the step groups.I'll be 54 in December.

happy to see my brothers (Eddie and Michael) and my neices (Jerri-Lynn and Sharita). Really wanted to see one of my "dearest"
friends (Johnny Sanders, block 10). I know you were there. Hope to see you soon. This is my first time visiting the web site

autographed, so you owe me one:-). Maybe we could meet somewhere and you can sign it. I walked the park until I was dead tired
and I still didn't see you.I misseed Coach Hawkins too, they said that he was in the park early, most of the basketball
players were way down in the park near where the churches used to be. I didn't make it that far. So we will work something
out, talk to you soon, I will still e-mail you my comments that I have talked about before.Love You Bro.

Comments Everything was great for the entire weekend, beginning with the Movies In The Park on Friday
night. The movie was The Great Debaters which was shown right next to the C Building and Childrens' building. It was a
beautiful night and the audience of adults and children enjoyed. I heard the skating party and the dance given at the Community
building were both a success. Our party at the Dorchester Inn was a lovely affair with over 700 Alumni in attendance. If you
weren't there, you missed it. The picnic was FANTASTIC, as always. It is always so good to see everyone. I had a wonderful
time. We lost so many friends and loved ones this past year and it hurts. But they are in a better place and we will all join
them one day.Let's all count our many blessings and look forward to seeing each other next year. Peace and Love. Loisteen

Comments Anyone who missed the set on Dorchester missed an awesome set. The Oldtimers who attended
were a sight to behold. A great time was had by everyone. The music wasn't that great but it was do-able. The D.J. played
all the Dance tunes all in a row and any one old enough to do the dances was certainly too old to do them in a row the way
that they were played, but it was still a great set, to see all of the oldtimers having a good time. Hope to see all tomorrow
at the picnic.

good thing. When you know the truth, you ignore a lie. The person who wrote that "I'm rich line" more than likely

Comments Hi All, CLAUDE WALKER (10) needs our help. Claude has been the person who has continued
to keep the ALTGELD GARDENS WALL OF RESPECT & FAME alive. He is currently in the process of trying to restore the wall,
replace the old names and add new names. This cost money. He is looking for donations and help (labor). If you have a family
members name on the wall and you want it restored or you would like to add a name, contact Claude at 773-870-9095. Claude's
continuing restoration of The Wall of Respect & Fame is our only legacy to be left in Altgeld, once they finish the renovation.
Let's help him keep it alive. If you act now, he can be finished by the time of the Reunion Picnic on August 17th. I remember
working on the wall with Saliim Al Nurridin (Sam Nance) and Seth Abrahim (Charles Henderson) back in the 70's. It was
a wonderful idea then and has everlasting memories. Call Claude today. See you all at the picnic.

What's up Geneal? My brother,I first of all want you to know that I AM NOT attempting to walk in brother Ray-J's shoes,
because from the way that I hear it, that would actually be impossible! Man, "IF" I can only be the best Hook Smith
that I can be, then my brother,I feel like I will be betting a thousand!Geneal, you of all people know me and the way that
I operate, therefore, you KNOW that, I will ALLWAY'S TELL IT LIKE IT IS and in light of the FACT, that what I put onto
this web site, will more than likely be read by my SPECIAL A/G Homies, I will never put any cut, on telling it like it is!
Which just might step on some people toe's, but that go's with the territory! My brother How has your life been going?
hit me back and keep me posted! Geneal, I have got to get back to my book and hopefully add a few more new pages to it! You
STAY STRONG and hang on in there! Hook Smith!

Comments I lived in Altgeld when it was first built. I think our address was 1103. We only lived there
a few years, and later moved to Hegwisch down the road a piece. Everything was nice and new in those days, I attended a nursery
school and learned to read early. When I got to Henry Clay school in Hegwisch, they were amazed at my reading ability. I learned
it at the schools in Altgeld Gardens in the early forties.

Comments I was going to address the issue that apparently isn't clear however, I will just say this...thanks sis
Queen Vet for your prayers. I miss our emails :) I really thought you knew about my big bro Ray J...thought I emailed you
the info...either that was my oversight or your educational focus (which I can dig it! you already know I'm in school
too) So sorry to hear of Duke's sister, I will pass the info on to my sister Cheryl who attended school with another one
of the Fowlers. Hey Rope, Lou said "isn't it time you all get together as old friends do and have some fun".
I told her the 'ole timers picnic was next month. Now if you have an addt'l word...Meanwhile, much Love & Peace
A.G.

Rope! I want you to know that I am NOT attempting to fan the flames of discontent,NOT at all, the only thing that I was attempting
to do, was to KEEP IT REAL! The truth WILL SET YOU FREE!Rope we ARE all grown up's and I simply tell it like it is!If
that hurts then don't read that which I post! However "IF you, or anybody else read what I write, I will NEVER sugar
coat the FACT'S and the fact IS that not everyone who say's that they are your friend is your friend! NOW CALL THAT
A LIE "IF YOU CAN" Rope, I don't ever believe in deception and if I were to tell this woman that which you spoke
of I would be telling her a half truth and that amounts to deception!Rope, YOU have A RIGHT, to look at life through rose
colored glasses, if that is what YOU CHOOSE to do! However you can be Da-- sure that I WILL KEEP IT REAL! (JAMES HOOK SMITH)

Comments Hello once again to my girl, Mrs. Harriet Luckett, I just wanted to tell you that like yours,
I have been getting compliments from our homies that have relocated to places around these United States!Harriet, I want you
to know that I do realize that your family has also went through your OWN episode of INJUSTICE! Now you are one of the many
that understands that simply because we were born POOR AND BLACK, WE ARE ASSUMED TO BE GUILTY UNTIL WE CAN PROVE OURSELVES
INNOCENT! AND THAT "IS A FACT" Harriet I strongly suggest that you either introduce your children to the practice
of LAW, or, teach them of how to FAST AND PREY! As these are the ONLY two way's that they will have a ghost of a chance
with this Justice System! Please do NOT EVER depend on a States Attorney to help you or yours, because if you do you WILL
regrett it!Harriet I am sure that you might not believe this but I had to study the various LAWS for three years, every day,and
in doing so, I gathered experiance that you would not believe! After I fought through my battle and came out of it victorious,
I wanted to show the younger brothers and sisters of how to fight back in the Judical System, I was turned DOWN with my FREE
offer to do this, everywhere that I went! In other words the powers that be, do NOT want the less fortunate to get this kind
of knowledge! (James Hook Smith)
